The nominees for the 74th Golden Globes ceremony have been announced. With a few surprises and some expected names, La La Land by Damien Chazelle received the most nominations (7 total), including best picture (musical or comedy), best actress (musical or comedy) for Emma Stone, and best actor (musical or comedy) for Ryan Gosling. Moonlight by Barry Kenkins followed (6 total), including best picture (drama), best director for Jenkins, and best supporting actor for Mahershala Ali.

The hilarious comedy series Veep must have engraved its name in the Golden Globes offices, as it seems that its name comes up every year. The big surprises were Sully by Clint Eastwood and Silence by Martin Scorsese being completely ignored; and on a personal note, I never thought I’d live to see the day Mandy Moore would get a Golden Globe nomination as an actress. Good for her, I guess there’s hope for everyone.

Who are you rooting for?
