And Lady Marion Cotillard, of course.

Macbeth was already one of my most anticipated films of the year with Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard alone, so the trailer released today for Justin Kurzel’s adaptation (that some lucky pricks already saw at Cannes) practically killed me. Take a look:

Wow. How utterly gorgeous is this trailer? I’m not a huge fan of Kurzel’s earlier work (Snowtown, yeeeesh) but I’m stunned by some of the imagery he’s conjured up for this Shakespeare adaptation. Macbeth looks ripe with mood and atmosphere (which it likely needs to help the really boring people that can’t sit through Shakespearian dialogue), and Fassbender and Cotillard look like they’re giving it their all so consider me pumped beyond belief. Let’s just hope the actual film can deliver on all these lovely compositions.

Macbeth is expected to arrive later this year.
