Universal’s Jurassic World Rebirth has maintained its strong performance at the box office during its fourth weekend. Directed by Gareth Edwards, this seventh installment in the Jurassic franchise earned $13.2 million domestically last weekend, securing the third spot behind James Gunn’s Superman and the newly released Fantastic Four: First Steps featuring Pedro Pascal. The continued success highlights the film‘s significant impact among recent releases.
Box Office Milestones and Rankings
With its latest earnings, Jurassic World Rebirth has amassed a staggering $719 million globally, with $301 million coming from domestic theaters and $418 million from international markets. This achievement places it as the fourth highest-grossing film of the year, trailing behind Jared Hess’s A Minecraft Movie, Disney’s live-action Lilo & Stitch, and China’s nearly $2 billion hit Ne Zha 2.
The film‘s impressive climb has earned it a spot within the top 140 highest-grossing films worldwide and propelled it into the top 20 highest-grossing movies ever released by Universal Studios. Currently positioned nineteenth on this prestigious list, Jurassic World Rebirth has surpassed several blockbuster titles.
Outperforming Vin Diesel’s Fast & Furious Entry
Among the major hits it overtook is F9: The Fast Saga, the 2021 installment of the Fast & Furious franchise starring Vin Diesel, John Cena, and Jordana Brewster, directed by Justin Lin. Although F9 was not the highest-grossing film in its series, passing it marks a notable milestone for the Jurassic installment.
Looking ahead, Jurassic World Rebirth aims to climb even higher by surpassing the 2024 release Wicked, which currently leads by about $36 million. Given the ongoing box office momentum, this gap is expected to narrow in the coming weeks, further solidifying the dinosaur epic’s position among Universal’s biggest hits.
