Golden Globe-nominated actor Pedro Pascal is in final talks to star in the upcoming Behemoth! film, produced by Searchlight Pictures. The announcement follows Pascal’s recent Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in The Fantastic Four: First Steps, which has received strong critical acclaim.
Key Creators Behind the Upcoming Behemoth Film
Behemoth! will be written and directed by Tony Gilroy, known for his role as the creator, showrunner, and head writer of the second and final season of Star Wars: Andor on Disney+. The series serves as a prequel to the 2016 film Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, which Gilroy co-wrote with Chris Weitz. Gilroy will also produce the film alongside Sanne Wohlenberg.
Although specific plot details remain undisclosed, Gilroy has hinted that the story will focus on a cellist. Production is slated to begin this fall in Los Angeles, but an official release date has not yet been set.
Pedro Pascal’s Recent Roles and Upcoming Projects
In addition to his role in The Fantastic Four, Pascal has recently appeared in two A24 films: Celine Song’s romantic comedy Materialists and Ari Aster’s black comedy Eddington. He is also a nominee for Lead Actor at the forthcoming Emmy Awards for his performance in The Last of Us Season 2.
Looking ahead, Pascal is scheduled to reprise his popular character Din Djarin in the eagerly awaited Mandalorian and Grogu movie set for release in 2026. That same year, he will also return as Reed Richards, aka Mister Fantastic, in Avengers: Doomsday.
