FX had previously renewed It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia for four more seasons back in 2020, ensuring the show’s continuation through Season 18. However, no official confirmation has been made regarding additional seasons after that point.
Well, as long as we have a good ending — I don’t know what the ending could be, they probably have one already figured out in their head,
said DeVito, who is 80 years old.
It would be hard to let go, but if it’s right and the audience is happy with it, then I think it’s a good thing to do.

DeVito also reflected on his previous work on the ABC and NBC sitcom Taxi, in which he portrayed Louie De Palma and earned a Primetime Emmy Award. He recalled how the cast fully embraced the circumstance of their show ending after the fifth season, giving their best performances knowing there was a finite conclusion.
