Emma Stone Stuns in Silver Gown as She Shares Sweet Kiss with Husband

Emma Stone captivated attendees at the Venice Film Festival, appearing radiant in a sparkling silver gown for the premiere of Bugonia. The La La Land star, 36, wore a striking balloon-skirt dress adorned with diamanté straps, paired with Roger Vivier Epine Sandals, while her husband Dave McCary was by her side in a sleek black outfit, celebrating the film’s debut together.

During the red carpet event, Stone and McCary shared a tender kiss as photographers documented their affectionate presence. The couple, who have a four-year-old daughter named Louise Jean, displayed warmth and closeness amid the festival’s buzz.

Co-Stars Alicia Silverstone and Noomi Rapace Appear at the Event

Also attending the premiere were key cast members from Bugonia, including Alicia Silverstone and Noomi Rapace. Silverstone, known for her iconic role in Clueless, plays Sandy in the film. Jesse Plemons, another star of the project, highlighted the physical challenges involved during filming, particularly in action sequences.

“It’s very easy when you read in the script: ‘Teddy is running,’”

Plemons explained, continuing,

“But Teddy is running a lot – for pretty much the whole of the third act.”

Director Yorgos Lanthimos Discusses the Vision Behind Bugonia

Bugonia is a creative reinterpretation of the 2003 Korean movie Save the Green Planet!, directed by Yorgos Lanthimos. Despite its surreal aspects, Lanthimos clarified that the film is not dystopian but rather reflective of current global realities.

“A lot of it is very reflective of the real world,”

he shared.

He went on to express concerns about humanity’s future in light of pressing global issues, stating,

“Humanity is facing a reckoning very soon and people need to choose the right path, otherwise, I don’t know how much time we have with everything that’s happening in the world, with technology, AI, wars, climate change and the denial of all these things.”

Lanthimos was last seen at the Venice Film Festival in 2023 with his film Poor Things, which won the Golden Lion and later earned four Academy Awards, including Best Actress for Stone.

Emma Stone Reflects on Her Bold Choice to Shave Her Head for the Role

Before the release of Bugonia, Stone revealed the personal impact of shaving her head for a key scene. She kept the transformation hidden by wearing wigs at public events such as the New York Film Festival.

“I was bummed I wasn’t going out with it, just straight-up bald,”

Stone shared with Vogue on August 11.

“I think that would have been fun.”

She also described the experience, saying,

“No better feeling in the world. The first shower when you’ve shaved your head? Oh my god, it’s amazing.”

The emotional moment brought tears to Stone, as it reminded her of her mother Krista’s battle with breast cancer and hair loss during treatment.

“She actually did something brave. I’m just shaving my head,”

Stone said, adding that her mother encouraged her with a joke:

“I’m so jealous. I want to shave my head again.”
