Zoë Kravitz recently opened up about a series of unusual and humorous incidents involving her friends accidentally ingesting hallucinogenic chocolates from her refrigerator. The actress shared these stories during an interview for Vanity Fair’s Lie Detector Test series, where she appeared alongside her Caught Stealing co-star Austin Butler.
When Butler asked if she had ever accidentally taken hallucinogens, Kravitz gave an unexpected answer, revealing that while she had never done so herself, she had inadvertently dosed several friends. These incidents took place when her friends accessed her fridge without her presence, leading to four separate cases of accidental consumption.
Memorable Occasions with Friends and Hallucinogenic Chocolates
Kravitz described one particularly notable event during the filming of The Batman, when a friend visiting from Paris unknowingly ate the chocolate mushrooms she had left in her refrigerator. She had to leave work to care for her friend after the experience. A month later, a similar incident happened with another friend, prompting Kravitz to start labeling everything in her fridge.
“My friend came to visit me from Paris and went into my fridge when I wasn’t there and ate the chocolate mushrooms I had sitting there and called me, and I had to leave work and take care of her,”
Kravitz recalled.
She added,
“I’ve never accidentally taken hallucinogenics, but I have accidentally dosed several people.”

Lessons on Boundaries and Labeling
Kravitz used these experiences to highlight the importance of respecting personal spaces and being clear about what is safe to consume. She emphasized that unmarked food in someone else’s fridge should be off-limits, with a humorous exception for well-known treats.
“But I also think you don’t go into people’s fridges and just eat, like, unmarked chocolate,”
she added,
“…Unless it’s, like, Hershey’s.”

These anecdotes reveal Kravitz’s playful nature while offering insight into her thoughtful approach to personal boundaries, especially regarding unique and unexpected situations with friends.
