Paris Jackson Denies Colman Domingo’s Claims About Michael Biopic Support

Paris Jackson has publicly denied claims made by Colman Domingo, star of the upcoming Michael Jackson biopic, regarding her and her brother Prince’s involvement in the project. The comments came after both appeared at the Venice Film Festival, where Paris performed at the amfAR benefit gala last weekend.

Domingo’s remarks created confusion about the family’s stance on the film, as he suggested that the Jackson siblings were supportive of the project’s development.

Conflicting Views About the Jackson Family’s Role in the Film

Before the festival, Domingo told People magazine,

“They’re very much in support of our film.”

He also expressed enthusiasm about being at the gala with Paris, stating,

“I’m excited to be here at amfAR tonight with Paris. It feels like that’s a nice way for us to be together.”

He described Paris as “very helpful” and referred to Prince as “a man of the film.”

However, Paris Jackson sharply countered this version of events on Instagram within hours of Domingo’s comments. She clarified her actual involvement and stance on the biopic, distancing herself entirely from the project.

Paris Jackson’s Clear Disengagement from the Biopic

In a follow-up Instagram post, Paris wrote,

“I read one of the first drafts of the script and gave my thoughts on what was dishonest/didn’t sit right with me and when they didn’t address it I moved on with my life. Not my monkeys not my circus. God bless and god speed.”

This statement firmly indicated that neither she nor Prince are actively supporting the film.

Despite Domingo’s optimism, the Jackson children’s lack of full endorsement is notable given the subject matter. The biopic, which has faced multiple delays, is currently set for release in April 2026.

Film Details and Future Prospects

The movie cast includes Jaafar, a cousin of Paris and Prince, in the leading role as Michael Jackson. Although Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer has suggested the release could be postponed further, he confirmed that preparations for the film’s promotional campaign are underway.

With varying family perspectives and production setbacks, the Colman Domingo Michael Biopic Controversy continues to spark discussion about the accuracy and approval of the portrayal of Michael Jackson’s life.
