Marlon Wayans Wants ‘White Chicks’ Sequel—But Only With AI

Marlon Wayans has expressed interest in returning for a sequel to the 2004 hit film, White Chicks, but only if artificial intelligence (AI) technology is used to reduce his time in makeup. Speaking during the promotion of his new movie, Him, the actor-comedian shared that the physical toll of transforming into his character Marcus Copeland was one of the biggest challenges he faced.

Wayans explained that AI would be essential to avoiding the exhausting makeup sessions, as he previously spent seven hours daily in makeup for the original film.

Struggles with Lengthy Makeup Process Drive AI Preference

On The Breakfast Club radio show, Wayans said,

“I’m waiting for technology. I’m waiting for AI,”

highlighting his wish for innovation to ease the burden. He added,

“I don’t want to sit in makeup seven hours again for 60 days, sitting in seven hours of makeup and then working 14 hours after that, which means I’m sleeping two hours every day to do this movie.”

He expressed interest in doing a version of the sequel where AI handles most of the makeup effects after a couple of initial sessions.

“Nah, AI is coming. So, I got to get in makeup two times, and then the AI will do the work. I’m down for that. But other than that, I want to do Black Man the movie where I come in, I do five minutes of makeup, and I get out of a 12-hour day.”

Past Comments and Fan Expectations for Sequel

This is not the first time Wayans has discussed his desire for a White Chicks sequel alongside his frustrations with the demanding makeup process. During a recent appearance on Kai Cenat’s Mafiathon 3, he reiterated the extreme lengths involved in preparing for the role, which often left him with minimal rest. He revealed,

“I don’t wanna spend seven hours doing nothing […] And then we work 14 hours after the seven hours because we produced the movie,”

describing the exhaustion of a typical 12-hour workday coupled with just a few hours of downtime alongside his brother Shawn, who co-starred in the original film.

Although plans for a sequel were initially announced in 2009, the project was shelved for many years. Wayans stated earlier this year that he would focus on White Chicks 2 after completing Scary Movie 6, which is scheduled for release in June 2026.

Continued Fan Interest Highlights Sequel’s Appeal

Demand among fans for a White Chicks follow-up remains strong. On social media, Wayans acknowledged the frequent requests for the sequel, affirming his commitment to the idea while highlighting the significance of AI in making it feasible.
