Tom Holland Hospitalized After Spider-Man Stunt Injury Halts Filming

Filming for Spider-Man: Brand New Day was interrupted after Tom Holland suffered a head injury during a stunt on set in Glasgow, Scotland, prompting a brief hospitalization on September 10. The incident resulted in a mild concussion for Holland, leading to a temporary pause in production as a precautionary measure.

Details of the Injury and Production Pause

According to reports, Tom Holland, who stars as Peter Parker in the upcoming Spider-Man sequel, was involved in a stunt mishap that caused him to fall and sustain the injury. Alongside Holland, a stunt actor was also hurt and required hospital treatment. Due to the incident, filming at the Glasgow location was temporarily suspended while the lead actor was treated.

Despite the injury, a source indicated that Holland expects to resume filming after taking a short recovery break. By September 20, he was well enough to appear at a charity event in London, hosting a Posh Pub Quiz at Christie’s auction house with his fiancée and fellow Spider-Man actor Zendaya.

Charity Work and Public Appearance After the Incident

The charity event was connected to The Brothers Trust, a foundation Tom Holland operates with his siblings—Sam, Harry, and Paddy. The actor’s ability to participate publicly shortly after the accident suggests a mild but manageable injury. His ongoing engagement in philanthropic activities highlights his commitment despite recent setbacks.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day’s Production Background

Production on Brand New Day began in early August, combining location shoots in Glasgow with sound stage work at Pinewood Studios in the U.K. This sequel picks up from the cliffhanger ending of the 2021 film Spider-Man: No Way Home, where Peter Parker sacrificed his identity to protect his loved ones. Holland hinted at a fresh narrative direction for both the character and the franchise.

“I know we left you with a massive cliffhanger at the end of No Way Home, where Peter Parker sacrificed his identity to save the people that he loves most in the world. So, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is a fresh start. It is exactly that. That’s all I can say. That’s all I’ve been allowed to say, and I’m well over the hump of giving away spoilers,”

Tom Holland, Actor

Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, known for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, the film is slated for release on July 31, 2026. Despite the current interruption due to Holland’s head injury, production is expected to continue once he recovers.
