Tom Holland Hospitalized After Stunt Injury on Spider-Man Set

Tom Holland was rushed to the hospital after suffering a head injury on the set of the upcoming film Spider-Man: Brand New Day in England. Reports indicate that Holland experienced a fall during a stunt, resulting in a cracked head and a likely concussion. The incident took place at Leavesden Studios in Watford, where the production is actively filming scenes.

Medical professionals confirmed the situation, stating,

“We were called at 10.30am on Friday to attend to a patient who had sustained an injury at Leavesden Studios in Watford… An ambulance was sent to the scene, and the patient was transported to hospital for further care.”

Additional Injuries and Production Impact

Alongside Holland, a woman believed to be his stunt double was also taken away from the set by ambulance due to injuries sustained during the same filming session. Dominic Holland, Tom’s father and well-known comedian, shared that his son would be off filming for an extended period. Dominic revealed this at a charity event where Tom and his fiancée, Zendaya, had appeared earlier, although Tom left the event prematurely because of his condition.

Contrasting this, an industry insider from Deadline indicated that Tom Holland’s break is mainly precautionary, and he is expected to resume filming within a few days.

Filming Locations and Tom Holland’s Enthusiasm for the Project

The new Spider-Man film is shooting on location across England and Scotland, marking a return to real-world settings after the previous installment, No Way Home, was filmed mostly on soundstages. Holland expressed excitement about this approach, stating he was

“over the moon and so excited”

to work in more authentic environments.

He shared earlier this year,

“Now, we’re really gonna lean into that old-school filmmaking and shoot in real locations, which is why we’re starting in Glasgow and we’re gonna use the streets of Glasgow to build this massive set-piece that we’re putting together.”

Holland added,

“So it’s gonna feel like making [2017’s] Spider-Man 1 again. It’s been such a long time since I’ve done it, it’s gonna feel like a breath of fresh air, and I think the fans are going to be over the moon with what we’re putting together.”

Upcoming Release and Expectations

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is scheduled to premiere in theaters next July. The production’s commitment to filming at real locations across Glasgow, Watford, and other parts of England and Scotland highlights a deliberate shift towards a more grounded visual style. Holland’s injury has momentarily paused his involvement, but the project is expected to continue progressing smoothly once he recovers.
