Jon Bon Jovi Jokes About Being ‘Pain in the Butt’ Grandpa

Jon Bon Jovi has humorously embraced his role as a new grandfather following the recent adoption of a daughter by his son Jake Bongiovi and actress Millie Bobby Brown. Speaking about the arrival of their baby girl about a month after the couple announced the adoption news, the rock icon described the experience as both “crazy, but great” and “wonderful.”

Welcoming the New Family Member

Bon Jovi explained that meeting the new baby girl instantly made her his grandchild in the eyes of himself and his wife, Dorothea Hurley. He joked about his eagerness to stay connected, saying,

“Your baby. So it’s beautiful, I want to see pictures like every other day, I’m that pain-in-the-butt guy already.”

Millie Bobby Brown and Jake Bongiovi officially confirmed their adoption on August 21, sharing that

“This summer, we welcomed our sweet baby girl through adoption.”

Young Parents Growing Their Family

Despite their youth—Brown is 21 and Bongiovi is 23—the couple’s relationship is thriving following their marriage last year after three years together. Jon Bon Jovi expressed support for their early start, stating,

“They got married very young, but we blessed it because we get it.”

He praised their maturity and commitment, adding,

“They’re sort of mature beyond their years. Her and Jake fell in love and we just thought, ‘OK, we’ll support this.’ It’s working out.”

Admiration for Millie Bobby Brown’s Work Ethic

Speaking highly of Brown, Bon Jovi called her “a sweetheart” and celebrated her determination, noting,

“She’s a hard worker. I tell her all the time how much I admire her, because her work ethic is unbelievable.”

This sentiment reflects the respect he holds for his daughter-in-law’s dedication both personally and professionally.

Bon Jovi’s Latest Projects Amid Family Joy

Jon Bon Jovi shared these insights during an appearance on Bunnie xo’s Dumb Blonde podcast, coinciding with his band preparing to release the Forever (Legendary Edition) album. This updated 2024 release will feature collaborations with well-known artists like Avril Lavigne, Bruce Springsteen, James Bay, and Jelly Roll, who also appears on the track “Living Proof.” The album is scheduled to drop on October 24.
