Evan Peters Hints at Surprising Quicksilver Return to MCU

Evan Peters has recently addressed the possibility of reprising his role as Quicksilver in the Marvel Cinematic Universe amid the ongoing expansion of The Multiverse Saga. Marvel Studios, having regained the rights to the X-Men characters, has introduced various figures from alternate timelines into the Avengers franchise through films and series. Peters, known for his earlier portrayal of Peter Maximoff in Fox’s X-Men movies, appeared in the MCU’s Phase 4 during WandaVision, initially presented as Wanda’s brother before being unveiled as Ralph Bohner.

In a recent interview with ComicBook, Peters, 38, was asked if recurring questions about his MCU return were becoming tiresome and if he would be making a comeback soon. While he expressed enthusiasm about playing the character, his answer left some ambiguity regarding his future with the franchise.

Evan Peters: No, haha. No, actually. I’m curious… Yeah, anything really. I had such a blast playing that character. And, you got to dive a little bit into his home life is weird as it was. But, but, yeah, sort of exploring that more would be interesting. And the relationship with Magneto would be pretty cool. Yeah. So, yeah, I don’t know. Knock on wood.

The last appearance of Peters’ character occurred in 2024 on the series Agatha All Along, during the episode “Familiar By Thy Side,” where Ralph Bohner contacts Billy Maximoff, played by Joe Locke, as Billy investigates the Westview incident from WandaVision.

Interpreting the Implications of Peters’ Remarks on Quicksilver

Marvel actors frequently face confidentiality agreements that limit what they can reveal about upcoming projects, suggesting that Peters’ cautious reply might be intended to maintain secrecy. Considering Quicksilver’s popularity among fans, it remains plausible that his character could feature in major Marvel collaborations, such as the Avengers: Doomsday film scheduled for release in 2026. Notably, Sir Ian McKellen‘s confirmed return as Magneto could set the stage for a meaningful reunion with Peters’ Quicksilver within the MCU narrative.

Examining the Possibility of Future Appearances by Evan Peters’ Quicksilver

Given Peters’ guarded comments and Marvel president Kevin Feige’s statements about undisclosed cast members for Avengers: Doomsday, it is reasonable to speculate that Peters might have more involvement than publicly acknowledged. Although principal filming for the 2026 ensemble movie has wrapped, additional shoots and reshoots often expand opportunities for surprise additions.

If Peters does not appear in the upcoming Avengers installment, there remains a strong chance that his version of Quicksilver could show up in Avengers: Secret Wars, the concluding film of Phase 6, which has yet to begin production. The character’s reintroduction would add depth to the evolving storyline of the MCU’s multiverse.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe, a multimedia phenomenon that launched with 2008’s Iron Man starring Robert Downey Jr., has steadily expanded through numerous films and series under Disney’s ownership since 2009. Titles such as Avengers: Endgame, WandaVision, and Loki have played significant roles in cultivating its widespread appeal and complex mythology.
