James Gunn Unveils Flexible 10-Year Plan for DC Universe

James Gunn assumed control of the DC studios during a turbulent period marked by major shifts at Warner Bros. and fan disappointment with recent films such as The Flash and Black Adam, as well as the lack of a cohesive Justice League. So the pinpoints are the same but some of the specifics have changed.”

Among them is the sequel to Superman, titled Man of Tomorrow, which will see David Corenswet and Nicholas Hoult reprising their roles. Gunn has hinted that Brainiac will serve as the main villain in the 2027 film. On the podcast, he revealed insight into the storyline, saying,

“It’s a story about Lex Luthor and Superman having to work together to a certain degree against a much, much bigger threat. It’s more complicated than that, but that’s a big part of it. … It’s as much a Lex movie as it is a Superman movie. I loved working with Nicholas Hoult. I relate to the character of Lex, sadly. I really wanted to create something extraordinary with the two of them. I just love the script so much.”

Another film generating anticipation is Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, featuring Milly Alcock and bringing back Jason Momoa, who returns as Lobo. The Clayface movie is also in production, starring Tom Rhys Harries in the lead role, further expanding the universe’s roster of characters.
