Four years after Marvel introduced Clint Barton’s focused journey in the Disney+ series Hawkeye, fans remain eager for a continuation. The show offered a grounded, street-level story blending action, humor, and emotional depth, while also launching Hailee Steinfeld’s Kate Bishop into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Jeremy Renner, who plays Barton, has recently commented on the possibility of returning in Jeremy Renner Hawkeye season 2, signaling renewed hope for the series’ revival.
Actor Shares Enthusiasm and Challenges About Reprising Role
In a new interview, Renner reflected on his experience portraying the archer in a less grandiose, more relatable setting than previous Avengers blockbusters. He said,
“It was great to dive more into the character a bit, in a world that’s more grounded. To me, it was a lot more fun to do and more to explore for the character, which is nice,”
Jeremy Renner remarked. He acknowledged the physical demands of the role, noting,
“I always wanted to do more of that stuff, and there’s the incident that happened, and I have to get my body in shape to be able to sling arrows again and dive around and do all that stuff, but I’ll get there.”
Renner’s Commitment Signals Possible Continuation Despite Contract Disputes
Jeremy Renner also conveyed a strong willingness to continue working within the Marvel universe:
“I’m doing good. I’ll always dance with Marvel. I’ll always dance with them for sure when appropriate, when it’s rocking. I’m happy to do season two of ‘Hawkeye.’ I love that character. I think there’s so much for us to do.”
However, earlier reports revealed a stumbling block—Marvel allegedly offered Renner a contract at half his previous salary for the second season. This proposal generated backlash from fans who criticized the offer as undervaluing Renner’s long-standing role in the franchise.
Uncertain Future for Hawkeye Season Two as Negotiations Continue
Despite the earlier salary dispute, Renner’s recent interview hints that discussions with Marvel might still be ongoing. If the studio improves the offer, Clint Barton’s story could continue alongside Kate Bishop’s growth as a rising hero in the MCU. At this stage, no official timeline exists for production or release, and any new episodes would likely take a year or more to materialize, according to information from industry sources. The resolution of these talks will determine whether the Archer’s legacy moves forward on screen.
