Stanley Tucci, the 64-year-old actor known for his role in The Devil Wears Prada, shared a moving reflection on love, aging, and the inevitable passage of time with his wife, Felicity Blunt. In a recent interview with The Times of London, Tucci spoke candidly about the 21-year age gap between them, which has never affected their strong connection but brings him a quiet sadness as he contemplates the future.
I am sad that I won’t see her get old and that I won’t be able to look after her if she needs looking after,
Tucci revealed in the interview published on Saturday, September 27.
I think there’s something really beautiful about people aging together. And unless there’s some miracle, that can’t happen.
The Beginning of Tucci and Felicity’s Relationship
Stanley Tucci first encountered Felicity Blunt, now 44, at the 2006 premiere of The Devil Wears Prada, where he worked alongside her sister, Emily Blunt. Their acquaintance deepened four years later at the 2010 wedding of Emily Blunt to actor John Krasinski, which sparked a stronger bond between the couple. This connection quickly blossomed into romance, leading to their marriage in 2012.
The couple has since expanded their family with two children: a son named Matteo, born in 2015, and a daughter, Emilia, born in 2018. Stanley Tucci is also a father to three children from his previous marriage to Kate Tucci, who passed away from breast cancer in 2009.

Felicity’s Crucial Role During Tucci’s Fight with Cancer
Following their marriage, Tucci faced the challenge of a cancer diagnosis, which stirred painful memories of losing both his first wife and close friends to the disease. Initially hesitant to undergo treatment, he found strength through Felicity’s support, who urged him to proceed with chemotherapy and radiation.
It was awful to go through it after my wife had died and friends had died,
Tucci recalled. The six months of treatment included the difficult adjustment of using a feeding tube, but today he views this period with appreciation.
I am happier than I was before,
he said.
The only thing I’m not happy about is how hard it was for Felicity, who was giving birth while I was getting treatment. And of course it was hard for the kids.
Newfound Clarity and Appreciation for Life
Currently in remission, Tucci described how his health ordeal has given him a clearer sense of identity and a more focused outlook on the future.
I’m more clear-headed than I was before. I have a stronger sense of self,
he explained.
In 15 years I’ll be 80 years old and there’s a lot of stuff that I want to do before then.
Though the age difference remains, Tucci cherishes the love he shares with Felicity and values the family life they have established. His heartfelt words reveal both the depth of his affection and the hope that their shared time continues to be fulfilling and meaningful.
