Struggles and Growth Amid Divorce
Lopez described that period as difficult, explaining that while she found joy in her role on set, her life at home was challenging. She said,
“It was a really tough time,”
and explained,
“Every moment on set, every moment I was doing this role, I was so happy. And then, it was like, back home, it was not great. And it was just like, ‘How do I reconcile this?’”
This contrast highlighted the emotional toll the divorce had on her.
She filed for divorce in August 2024, shortly after finishing production on the film. Lopez emphasized how the separation changed her in a positive way, saying,
“It was the best thing that ever happened to me,”
and added,
“It didn’t change me — it helped me grow in a way that I needed to grow.”
Embracing Life’s Joys Post-Divorce
In the aftermath of the divorce, Lopez shared that she is now in a better place emotionally and mentally. Reflecting on last summer, she described it as possibly the best she has had. She expressed,
“I had so much fun. I’m able to enjoy things more … I don’t have as much pressure,”

“I realized that the joy is in living and these moments and really embracing life and everything it brings to you.”

Comparing her experiences during the movie’s production to her personal life, Lopez noted how difficult moments offer valuable lessons. She said,
“The hard times are the lessons, and you have to understand that. You have to understand that. And once you do, everything just becomes a little bit lighter. And you can really, really fly.”
When asked whether she feels like she is flying now, Lopez responded affirmatively:
“Yes. It does. And I still feel like I want to fly higher. I want to see more. I want to do more things.”
