Sony Pictures has officially scheduled the follow-up to The Social Network, titled The Social Reckoning, with a release date set for October 9, 2026. This new film will revisit the story of Facebook, focusing on the significant controversies that surfaced in 2021, bringing Aaron Sorkin’s Social Reckoning back to the big screen.
Returning Faces and New Cast Members Join the Project
Jeremy Strong has been cast as Mark Zuckerberg, stepping into the role originally made famous by Jesse Eisenberg. Mikey Madison will portray Frances Haugen, the whistleblower whose disclosures shook the company. Jeremy Allen White will play Jeff Horowitz, the Wall Street Journal reporter who authored The Facebook Files, exposing Facebook’s troubling practices. The cast also includes Bill Burr, contributing his distinct presence to the ensemble.

The film will be produced by Todd Black, Peter Rice, Stuart Besser, alongside Aaron Sorkin, who is both writing and directing once again.
