Jonathan Majors Hints at Possible MCU Comeback Amid Rumors

In December 2023, Jonathan Majors, known for his roles in Loki and Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, was convicted of reckless assault in the third degree and faced a harassment violation. As a result, Marvel Studios promptly ended their working relationship with the actor. The charges stemmed from an altercation involving his then-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari, though Majors has continuously asserted his innocence. Following his conviction, Majors completed a 52-week domestic violence intervention program.

Potential for a Return to the MCU

Despite the controversy, there is speculation about whether Majors might return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Kang, the time-traveling villain whose portrayal was well-received by both fans and critics. Questions remain regarding the shift in Marvel’s storyline from Kang to Doctor Doom as the primary antagonist of the Multiverse Saga. Fans are eager to see how these two powerful characters will interact, particularly given the build-up to another Multiversal War established in Loki and the third Ant-Man film.

Majors’ Reaction to Rumors of an MCU Comeback

When asked by the U.S. Sun about rumors suggesting a possible MCU comeback, Majors reportedly smiled broadly but remained tight-lipped. He said,

“I cannot say anything about that,”

while seemingly unable to hide his excitement. When pressed further, he remarked,

“Well, it’s a Multiverse, so there’s always that. Always a lot of opportunity for that,”

and expressed gratitude that many fans want him to return.

The Emotional Impact of Losing the Marvel Role

Earlier this year, Majors revealed that a member of his legal team informed him that Marvel had fired him immediately after he exited a criminal courthouse in Manhattan. Majors recalled,

“He goes, ‘I’m just gonna tell you now. That way you’re not surprised, and you can start processing it. They fired you. Marvel fired you.’”

He described the following weeks as overwhelmingly painful, stating,

“There were days when it was like, ‘Is this real?’ It’s a heartbreak like I’ve never experienced and it just compounded and compounded.”

Plans Beyond Marvel and Future Prospects

Majors hinted at involvement in a different superhero project unrelated to Marvel or DC. Describing it as “a pretty wicked story,” he shared, “I’m glad to be reading.” On the uncertain path ahead, he added,

“Sometimes it feels like it’s not going to happen. And sometimes it feels like we start next week.”

Upcoming Avengers Films and the Multiverse Saga’s Direction

The original title for the next Avengers film, The Kang Dynasty, has been changed to Doomsday, though the Multiverse Saga will conclude with Avengers: Secret Wars. While a cameo from Majors seems unlikely, it remains a possibility. Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled for release on December 18, 2026, and Avengers: Secret Wars will premiere on December 17, 2027.
