A man from Texas, James Robertson-Reavis, has attracted widespread attention after purchasing a life-size model of actor Henry Cavill. Known for his extensive collection of silicone celebrity figures since the early 1990s, Robertson-Reavis’s latest acquisition—a detailed Henry Cavill life-size doll—has sparked curiosity and discussion online.
Robertson-Reavis explained that the doll serves as both a display piece and a companion for social media content.
“We bought him to display and use for Instagram,”
he said in an interview with Queerty on October 8.
“A kind of roommate situation; life with Henry, in a way.”
The Cavill figure stands apart as the only fully realistic sculpture in his collection, which also includes several Halloween-themed dolls.
The Accuracy and Purpose Behind the Cavill Figure
This life-size doll is anatomically precise, although Robertson-Reavis emphasized it is not intended as a sex doll, noting,
“He isn’t made like that, per se. I have added additional silicone ‘pieces.’”
The figure was crafted by artist Steven Davies, who specializes in creating and collecting life-size sculptures. Davies showcased his creation on Instagram in mid-September, calling it
“The Man of Steel is Complete.”
Describing the work, Davies highlighted the intricate craftsmanship involved:
“Life size Silicone Tribute Figure — Hand rooted head and body hair — glass eyes,”
and referred to Henry Cavill as
“a true inspiration, the hard work and dedication he put into playing the Man of Steel is unmatched.”
He further noted the figure represented his
“largest and most detailed figure to date with over 350 man [hours] spent to create this art piece.”
Launching the My Cavill Companion Instagram and AI Content
Following the acquisition, Robertson-Reavis created the My Cavill Companion Instagram account, which uses artificial intelligence to portray the doll’s daily experiences. The account’s bio welcomes followers to

“the adventures of my Henry Cavill figure!”
Robertson-Reavis pointed out that Cavill became his favorite actor after watching the 2007 film Stardust.
To avoid confusion, Robertson-Reavis included a disclaimer in a post dated October 2, clarifying,
“I am in no way affiliated with or pretend to be the real Henry Cavill. This is merely a fan page.”
He also specified his role as the owner rather than the artist, stating,
“I am not the artist who created this figure, I am the owner. I commissioned the artist to make him for me.”
While he did not provide an exact price for the figure, Robertson-Reavis suggested the cost for a commission like this would likely fall between $7,000 and $12,000.
Addressing Ethical Considerations in AI Usage
Robertson-Reavis also commented on possible concerns regarding the use of AI in generating content involving celebrity likenesses. He said,
“I can see there being a possible issue with celebs who are deceased because they can’t give consent.”
However, he added,
“But for living celebs who are in the public eye … if we aren’t using AI to deceive or con, I don’t see the harm in personal use.”
He reflected on society’s fascination with celebrities, noting,
“We are a society that loves our celebrities and we all have that desire to know them, meet them, even love them. If AI can make dreams come true in a small way, I don’t have a problem with it.”
The Cultural Impact of Celebrity Figures and AI in Fan Communities
This unique blend of physical art and AI-driven storytelling underscores evolving ways fans engage with public figures like Henry Cavill. By commissioning a detailed life-size model and incorporating AI-generated content, Robertson-Reavis bridges traditional fandom and digital innovation.
The combination allows a new form of interaction with celebrity culture, especially in cases where direct contact is impossible. As technologies like AI continue to develop, such projects may prompt broader discussions on ethics, creativity, and personal expression within fan communities.
