Alec Baldwin Survives Wild Car Crash After Garbage Truck Cut-Off

Alec Baldwin and his brother Stephen Baldwin were involved in a car accident on Monday in East Hampton, where they had arrived for the Hamptons International Film Festival. Both men escaped serious injury, exiting their damaged vehicle unassisted after the crash.

Details of the Crash and Vehicle Damage

The brothers’ white Range Rover collided forcefully with a large tree, causing substantial front-end damage to the SUV. Photographs from the scene reveal the crumpled hood and an open driver’s door, while first responders attended the area. Alec Baldwin was seen speaking with police officers and making a phone call nearby, although Baldwin family representatives have yet to comment publicly.

Alec Baldwin’s Account of the Incident

In a video posted on Instagram, Alec Baldwin described the circumstances leading to the accident. He explained that a large garbage truck abruptly cut him off on the road, forcing him to swerve to avoid a collision. Baldwin said,

“This morning I was in a car accident. A guy cut me off with a truck, a big garbage truck. I mean, a garbage truck the size of a whale. Never seen a garbage truck like that, it must have been something commercial for taking away material from construction or something.”

He added,

“It was the biggest garbage truck I have seen… To avoid hitting it, I hit a tree. Big fat tree. It crushed my car, my wife’s car. I crushed my wife’s car. I feel bad about that. But I’m fine, my brother’s fine.”

Condition of the Baldwins and Next Steps

Authorities at the scene confirmed that neither Alec nor Stephen Baldwin suffered visible major injuries, and both were conscious and able to communicate with officers. The car involved in the crash is registered under Baldwin’s wife, Hilaria Baldwin. The incident has understandably caused distress, and while no further updates have been provided, the focus remains on the well-being of the brothers following the unexpected and frightening accident caused by the garbage truck’s sudden maneuver.
