MVP Teams Up With Dave Bautista for Explosive Life Story Film

MVP, known for his turbulent life journey and wrestling career, has revealed plans to collaborate with Dave Bautista on a film based on his life story. During an episode of his Marking Out podcast with Dwayne Swayze, MVP shared that he has seriously considered writing his memoirs and discussed the possibility of turning his experiences into a movie. This announcement marks a notable development in the ongoing intersection between wrestling and film.

MVP’s Desire to Write His Own Story

MVP conveyed a strong wish to personally author his memoir instead of relying on a ghost writer, inspired by wrestling legends who have done the same.

“The short answer is yes. I have considered it many times, but I’m one of the laziest hard working people you will ever meet and I have not begun that manuscript. Because I don’t want a ghost writer; I want to write it myself. Just like Chris Jericho, just like Mick Foley. Just like some of these other guys — Bret Hart, that actually wrote their own books. I have thought about it and many people have asked me about it. It’s something I want to do,”

MVP explained. This shows his reflective and earnest approach to sharing his personal history.

Film Collaboration with Dave Bautista and Dogbone Entertainment

MVP has taken conversations with Dave Bautista, the WWE Hall of Famer turned actor, further by exploring a film adaptation through Bautista’s production company, Dogbone Entertainment. MVP expressed trust in Bautista’s ability to handle the sensitive material authentically.

“I’ve actually talked to my good friend, Dave Bautista. We’ve talked about, with his production company, taking the step to turn my life story into a movie. And it’s something that — I trust Dave to do it. I wouldn’t trust just anybody with it, because my life story is not PG, man. My life story is rated R as f**k. Rated X, I mean, legit. We have to get PG-13 at the minimum. But yeah. It’s something Dave and I talked about, and it’s on the backburner,”

MVP shared. This candid reveal underscores the raw and intense content expected from the film adaptation.

The Journey Behind MVP’s Story Makes His Life Film-Worthy

MVP painted a vivid picture of the dramatic experiences that shaped his life, demonstrating why it merits a cinematic treatment.

“But yeah, man. My life — my life is a movie, man. A movie in the making. From my teenage years in Miami as a graffiti artist-slash-gang member. Becoming an armed robber, going to prison. Nine and a half years in prison, and all the bullshit I survived and saw in there. And then coming out and being a bouncer and bodyguard on South Beach. And selling weed and steroids to support my wrestling habit. [laughs] Going on to eventually making it as a professional wrestler. And [as] James Cagney said, ‘Top of the World, Ma!’”

This explanation illustrates the complexity and grit that define MVP’s life and hint at the compelling nature of the project in development.

Implications and Future Prospects for the Film Adaptation

The collaboration between MVP and Dave Bautista signals a promising addition to the genre of wrestling-inspired biographical films, potentially attracting audiences interested in raw, true-life narratives. With Bautista’s experience in both wrestling and film production, the project holds potential for authenticity and creative depth. While the film remains in preliminary stages, this endeavor could bring a fresh, unfiltered perspective to WWE and AEW fans, as well as viewers drawn to stories of redemption and survival. For now, MVP’s personal involvement in writing and Bautista’s trusted production oversight are crucial to shaping an impactful portrayal of an extraordinary life.
