Amid ongoing speculation about Joseph Quinn Stranger Things return as Eddie Munson, Matt Duffer firmly dispelled rumors.
“I love that Joe Quinn is toying with people! But no, he’s dead,”
Duffer said, highlighting Quinn’s busy schedule, including roles in multiple films since season 4 aired. Quinn is notably cast as Johnny Storm, the Human Torch, in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars films by the Russo Brothers.
Duffer remarked on Quinn’s limited availability, rhetorically stating that the actor does not have the time to participate in the upcoming Stranger Things season. He added,
“No, sadly, RIP. He’s fully under that ground,”
confirming that Eddie Munson’s story has ended for good.
Stranger Things 5’s Returning Cast and Release Dates
Stranger Things 5 will reunite nearly all of the original main cast, including Millie Bobby Brown, Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Natalia Dyer, and Sadie Sink. The new season will be released on Netflix in three parts: Volume 1, featuring four episodes, arrives on November 26, followed by Volume 2 with three episodes on Christmas. The season finale is set for release on New Year’s Eve, concluding the series.
