Steve Martin Joins Aerosmith and Yungblud on Banjo Track

Aerosmith and Yungblud have unveiled a new version of their recent single “My Only Angel,” now titled the Desert Road Version, featuring banjo contributions from actor and musician Steve Martin. This collaboration came together after Aerosmith’s frontman Steven Tyler invited Martin to add his banjo playing remotely to the track, enhancing the unique fusion of styles. This release marks Steve Martin’s latest musical partnership and highlights his continued engagement with banjo-driven music.

Background and Details of the Collaboration

“My Only Angel” was the first new song released by Aerosmith since their 2012 album Music from Another Dimension!. The collaboration originated when Yungblud and Aerosmith reworked Yungblud’s expansive nine-minute track “Hello Heaven, Hello,” which led to a songwriting session that further developed into the upcoming project. The resulting extended play (EP), titled One More Time, is scheduled for release on November 21 and includes multiple collaborations beyond the title track.

Alongside the Desert Road Version of “My Only Angel,” the EP will feature three additional joint songs—“Problems,” “Wild Woman,” and “A Thousand Days”—as well as a new remix of Aerosmith’s classic 1977 hit Back In The Saddle,” showcasing a blend of legacy rock and contemporary influences.
