Sydney Sweeney Wraps Euphoria Season 3: ‘Feels Like Home’

Sydney Sweeney is approaching the end of filming for the highly anticipated third season of HBO’s Euphoria. Speaking at the AFI Fest premiere of her new drama Christy in Los Angeles, Sweeney shared that she has just two days left on set, marking a significant milestone in the production.

Reflecting on her return to the series after a three-year hiatus, Sweeney explained how reuniting with the cast and crew feels deeply familiar, saying,

“I wrap ‘Euphoria’ in two days,”

she said.

“It’s mostly the same crew, so it feels like I’m going home to family,”

she added.

“I’ve grown up with them. I was 20 when I did the pilot, so being able to see a lot of the same people, it feels very comforting.”

Uncertainty Surrounds Future of the Series

Despite HBO’s announcement that Season 3 will be the show’s final chapter, Sweeney did not confirm if the series might continue beyond this point. “I cannot confirm any information,” she stated when asked about the possibility of a fourth season, leaving fans eager for any updates uncertain but hopeful.

Adding to the anticipation, co-star Jacob Elordi spoke about his experience filming the latest season while attending the Academy Museum Gala in Los Angeles. Describing the project’s creative direction, he said, “It was incredible, man,” and explained,

“It was incredibly liberating. I got to play something so sort of far out from what I’ve done before.”

Elordi praised series creator Sam Levinson’s vision, highlighting that

“He constructed something that’s incredibly clever and cinematic. I think people are really going to like it.”

However, he admitted to limited knowledge about the overall storyline unfolding around him, stating,

“Everybody shoots at different storylines. I don’t know what anyone else is doing. I had a really singular storyline. You don’t know what the other story lines are. It’s like FBI files. So it’s great because I’ll get to consume the show the same way that everybody else does as a fan, which I haven’t been able to do before. I’m really excited.”

Sweeny echoed this sentiment, sharing her excitement:

Upcoming Projects Highlight Sweeney’s Expanding Career

Looking ahead, Sydney Sweeney is preparing for a new role as she gears up to portray actress Kim Novak in the upcoming film Scandalous, directed by Colman Domingo. The biographical drama centers on Novak’s interracial relationship with legendary entertainer Sammy Davis Jr., portrayed by David Jonsson, during the year 1957.

Sweeney revealed plans to immerse herself deeply in the role, saying,

“I’m going to meet with her. I’m going to work with some movement coaches and dialect coaches, watch and study all of her films. I’m really excited.”

This commitment reflects her dedication and determination to explore new artistic challenges beyond her work on Euphoria.

Significance of Sweeney’s Journey and Euphoria’s Final Chapter

Sydney Sweeney’s return to Euphoria after several years and the nearing conclusion of Season 3 marks an important moment both for the actress and the series. Her close connection with the production team has made this chapter personally meaningful, illustrating her growth over the years since the show’s inception.

The enigmatic nature of Season 3’s narrative and the lack of clarity about potential future seasons add to the viewers’ anticipation, with both Sweeney and Elordi expressing excitement about experiencing the story alongside fans. As Sweeney moves forward with ambitious roles like portraying Kim Novak, her evolving career continues to command attention in the entertainment world.
