Jason Statham & Guy Ritchie Reunite for New Action Thriller

Jason Statham and Guy Ritchie are teaming up once again for a new action thriller titled Viva La Madness, continuing their longstanding collaboration. This latest film marks another chapter in their working relationship, with production anticipated to begin in January in London.

About the Film and Its Origins

Viva La Madness is adapted from J.J. Connolly’s 2011 novel of the same name, serving as a sequel to Connolly’s earlier work, Layer Cake. The original novel was famously brought to the screen by director Matthew Vaughn. The story centers on a London-based drug dealer known as X, with narrative elements involving

“sex, scams, narcotics and dirty money,”

according to Connolly’s description of the novel.

The film is being crafted as a standalone project, without plans for spin-offs or further adaptations of Connolly’s stories. While much of the cast remains undisclosed, Guy Ritchie is confirmed to write and direct. Jason Statham will also produce alongside Thomas Benski, maintaining their active roles behind the scenes.

History of Collaboration Between Statham and Ritchie

This venture marks the sixth time Jason Statham and Guy Ritchie have worked together. Statham has featured in several of Ritchie’s successful films including Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Snatch, Wrath of Man, Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre, and Revolver. Their partnership has become well-known for delivering gritty, stylish action movies that mix crime with complex storytelling.

What’s Next for the Project

With filming set to begin shortly, audiences can expect the familiar tension and kinetic energy that characterize the duo’s previous films. As the production develops, more details about the cast and storyline are likely to emerge, building anticipation around this new installment inspired by Connolly’s novel.
