Jennifer Lawrence recently shared a surprising story involving Robert Pattinson eating from her trash during a late-night visit to her home. While spending the evening in with friends, Lawrence said Pattinson stopped by after finishing work nearby, leading to an unusual request for leftover food — straight from the garbage.
Behind the Scenes of an Unexpected Snack
Lawrence explained that one December night, she and her girlfriends were relaxing in pajamas watching Little Women when Pattinson reached out to her. During her appearance on The Graham Norton Show, she revealed that since he was working close by, Pattinson wanted to come over, describing how he fits into her social circle as essentially “one of the girls” who likely wanted to catch up and gossip.
Jennifer Lawrence remarked,
“He’s also like my daughter in a way — he’s a great father, a professional, shows up on time, but I wouldn’t trust him to put a coat on or eat on time. He brings out this very maternal vibe. He comes in, I give him a hug, and he says, ‘You have any food? I’m so hungry.’ I’m like, ‘Yeah, come in.’ He goes to the bathroom — I do have food, but it’s in the trash.”
Lawrence recounted how Pattinson’s hunger led to her retrieving discarded food so he could eat.
The Actor’s Unexpected Appetite for Discarded Food
Despite the odd setting, Pattinson didn’t hesitate to eat the scraps Lawrence pulled from the trash. Her girlfriends watched in disbelief as he continued to eat, even requesting seconds. Lawrence shared,
“While he was in the bathroom, I was pulling food out of my garbage can, and my girlfriends were like [reaction]. He just eats it, and we’re all kind of watching him eat this trash. When he was finished, he said, ‘I’m still hungry. Is there more?’ I said, ‘Well, there is, but it’s in the garbage.’ He said, ‘I don’t mind,’ pulled it out of the trash, and kept eating.”
The show’s host, Graham Norton, responded with amusement, calling Pattinson “a great house to have.”
Upcoming Collaboration Highlights Their Close Friendship
Lawrence and Pattinson, who star together in the film Die My Love, share a strong personal and professional bond highlighted in this anecdote. Their movie is set to premiere in U.S. theaters on November 7, 2025, allowing audiences to see them reunite on screen after this memorable off-screen moment.
