Taron Egerton Joins Channing Tatum in Crime Drama Kockroach

Actor Taron Egerton has joined the cast of the upcoming crime drama Kockroach, replacing Oscar Isaac, who left due to scheduling conflicts. The film stars Channing Tatum and Zazie Beetz, and is set in New York, focusing on a mysterious stranger’s rise to power among the city’s criminal elite.

Plot and Creative Team Behind Kockroach

Kockroach is adapted from the novel by William Lashner, writing as Tyler Knox. The story follows a stranger who transforms into a formidable crime boss in New York’s underworld. Directed by Matt Ross, known for Captain Fantastic, the screenplay is penned by Jonathan Ames, creator of Bored to Death and You Were Never Really Here. Producer Andrew Lazar, who brought American Sniper to the screen, supports the project through his Mad Chance banner.

The film is in pre-production with shooting planned to begin in February in Australia. The technical crew includes production designer Colin Gibson, cinematographer Adam Arkapaw, and VFX supervisor Jonathan Dearing, contributing to the film’s distinctive look and effects.
