Jennifer Lawrence Says No Intimacy Coordinator Needed with Pattinson

Jennifer Lawrence revealed that she did not require an intimacy coordinator while filming Lynne Ramsay’s new movie Die My Love, citing her co-star Robert Pattinson’s respectful behavior and his devoted relationship with his fiancée as key reasons. She made these comments during an interview on the Las Culturistas podcast hosted by Matt Rogers and Bowen Yang, where she described how she and Pattinson built their on-screen relationship.

Building Trust and Chemistry Without an Intimacy Coordinator

Lawrence explained that before working together, she didn’t know Pattinson personally, but quickly found him to be

“sweet and not dramatic and just really laid back.”

She described Pattinson as “exactly what you would imagine,” emphasizing his comfortable and professional manner. To prepare for a choreographed sequence, they took dance lessons, which helped establish trust and ease with the physical aspects of their roles, even though that dance scene was later removed.

Regarding the film’s intimate scenes, Lawrence confirmed,

“We did not have one. Or maybe we did, but we didn’t really … I felt really safe with him,”

clarifying that Pattinson is

“not pervy, and very in love with Suki [Waterhouse]. And so we mostly were talking about our kids and our relationships.”

This atmosphere of professionalism and mutual respect allowed them to navigate the film’s vulnerable moments without additional oversight.

Addressing Industry Challenges in Intimate Filming

Lawrence was clear that if she had felt uncomfortable or sensed any inappropriate behavior from Pattinson, she would have engaged an intimacy coordinator. She explained,

“There wasn’t any weird, like, ‘Does he think I like him?’ If there was a little bit of that, I would probably have an intimacy coordinator.”

She acknowledged that there are instances in the industry where male actors react negatively if their sexual advances are rejected, stating,

“A lot of male actors get offended if you don’t want to f—k them, and the punishment starts.”

She reassured,

“But he was not like that. For the record, he was not like that.”

With a touch of sarcasm, Lawrence added,

“I’ve just heard of this, I’ve never experienced it,”

highlighting the importance of a respectful environment on set.

Upcoming Projects and Release Information

During the podcast, Lawrence also briefly mentioned her upcoming project centered on Miss Piggy, which involves Emma Stone and Cole Esocla. Fans can look forward to seeing Die My Love in theaters starting this Friday, marking another significant entry in Lawrence’s filmography.
