Millie Bobby Brown Praises Bond with David Harbour Amid Drama

Millie Bobby Brown refused to criticize her co-star, David Harbour, despite reports that she filed a harassment and bullying complaint against him before filming the fifth season of Stranger Things. When asked about the significance of her relationship with Harbour following the conclusion of the series, Brown emphasized that their bond was very meaningful to her.

During an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Brown explained,

“So much, so much. I mean, we play father and daughter,”

highlighting the depth of their on-screen and off-screen rapport. She continued by comparing their friendship to those within the wider cast:

“And similar to Noah [Schnapp] and [Winona Ryder], you have an amazing friendship.”

Cast Members Reflect on Close Relationships

Noah Schnapp, who appeared alongside Brown in the interview, supported her statements by confirming his strong connection with Winona Ryder, calling their relationship “so special.” Schnapp added that this bond was

“the most important part of the job,”

a sentiment Brown echoed as she praised the “human connection” shared by the entire cast.

Public Display of Unity at Stranger Things 5 Premiere

The Stranger Things ensemble has maintained a united front amid controversy, showing camaraderie at the world premiere of the show’s fifth season. Brown and Harbour shared a warm embrace and laughter while walking the red carpet at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, California. This public interaction suggested a positive relationship between the two despite earlier reports.

Prior media coverage, notably from the Daily Mail, claimed Brown submitted an extensive complaint against Harbour before filming started, containing numerous accusations. Harbour portrays Jim Hopper while Brown plays Eleven/Jane Hopper in the Netflix series. Representatives for Brown, Harbour, Netflix, and series creators Matt and Ross Duffer did not comment when these allegations surfaced.

Positive Production Experience Despite Controversy

Although reports of conflict circulated, Brown conveyed that her experience making Season 5 was emotionally impactful and meaningful. She described having a heartfelt response during the table read and revealed she and Schnapp crafted friendship bracelets for many cast members, underscoring the closeness shared on set.

Brown also took on a mentorship role, especially towards new cast members. Jake Connelly, who joined the series as Derek Turnbow in the final season, revealed that Brown made an early effort to help him feel comfortable during production. He recounted to TheWrap how Brown invited him to her trailer early in the process and reassured him:

“Oh yeah, we were all your age when we started. If you ever need anything, you can just call us.”

Connelly shared,

“I gotta say, one of the first days of the table read, Millie Bobby Brown called me over to her [trailer] and — my mom had no idea where I went — I was just there with Millie Bobby Brown and Jake Bongiovi just chilling it up, just talking.”
