Antonio Banderas is set to receive a lifetime achievement award from the Torino Film Festival in Turin, Italy. The acclaimed actor will present a special screening of Pedro Almodóvar’s 2019 semi-autobiographical drama Pain and Glory during the event, highlighting his significant career contributions. This honor coincides with the festival’s 43rd edition, running from November 21 to 29.

Banderas will be bestowed with the Stella della Mole Award on November 29 at the festival’s opening ceremony, recognizing his enduring impact on cinema. The Torino Film Festival will begin with the afterlife romantic comedy Eternity, directed by David Freyne. During the festival, Banderas will showcase Pain and Glory, in which he plays a film director reflecting on his life, a role that earned him the best actor award at Cannes Film Festival along with nominations for the Academy Award and Golden Globe.
Celebrating a Collaboration with Pedro Almodóvar and International Success
Torino honors Banderas not only for his role in Pain and Glory but also for his long-standing collaboration with Pedro Almodóvar. Their partnership includes iconic films such as Labyrinth of Passion (1982), Matador (1986), Law of Desire (1987), and Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown (1988). Banderas’ notable Hollywood performances in movies like Philadelphia (1993), Interview With the Vampire (1994), Evita (1996), as well as recent projects like Official Competition (2021) and Babygirl (2024), also contribute to this accolade.
