Jeff Goldblum Became Vegetarian After Playing Wizard Role

Jeff Goldblum has embraced a significant lifestyle change after portraying the Wizard in the recent production Wicked: For Good. The 73-year-old actor revealed this transformation during an appearance on This Morning, explaining that his experience with the character led him to adopt a vegetarian diet.

Impact of the Role and Reflection on Animal Cruelty

Goldblum described how his role as the Wizard involved themes of cruelty, including acts of animal mistreatment. This element of the story deeply affected him, contributing to his decision to stop consuming meat and poultry. He shared,

“Working with Jon Chu [is] amazing. It’s changed me,”

and went on to say,

“You know, after doing this movie, we talked about the animal cruelty, I stopped eating meat and poultry,”

highlighting the connection between his on-screen experience and personal choices.

Changes in Holiday Traditions and Broader Outlook

Goldblum humorously acknowledged that his upcoming holiday season will feel different without turkey for Thanksgiving or Christmas. Nevertheless, he expressed optimism about this shift, stating,

“But I’m happy. We need the world to work for everybody on Earth and every creature, too,”

reflecting a hopeful and compassionate perspective towards both people and animals.
