Quentin Tarantino Teases New Kill Bill Prequel, Animated Film

Quentin Tarantino has hinted at new directions for his Kill Bill universe, revealing ideas for both a Kill Bill origin story and an animated movie involving his legendary characters. These potential Quentin Tarantino Kill Bill projects could expand the filmmaker’s beloved cinematic world in unexpected ways.

New Paths for Kill Bill: A Glimpse at Untold Stories

During a recent press round for The Lost Chapter: Yuki’s Revenge, an action experience rooted in the original Kill Bill script and now available within Fortnite, Quentin Tarantino addressed the ongoing curiosity surrounding another possible Kill Bill project. When asked if he had more tales left to tell in that universe, Tarantino openly acknowledged that a prequel about Bill’s backstory had long existed in his mind. However, the director admitted that his busy schedule would determine whether the concept ever became a reality.

Reflecting on his past creative process, Tarantino shared insights about the taxing effort that making Kill Bill entailed and how it left certain ideas unexplored after production concluded.

“I’ve got other things to do right now, but I had a whole Kill Bill idea in my mind when we were doing it, and then I was so wiped out from doing the movie,”

– Quentin Tarantino, Director

He expanded further on the kind of prequel he would want to create, stating:

“I like the idea of a Bill origin. A story of Bill, about how Bill became Bill and the three godfathers that made Bill: Esteban Vihaio, Pai Mei, and Hattori Hanzō. Will I live long enough to do that? That remains to be seen.”

Animated Projects Open New Possibilities

The launch of Yuki’s Revenge has prompted Tarantino to consider developing animated works as a way to realize stories that might otherwise prove unfilmable. One possibility involves two of his most iconic characters:

“I could see some world between this and Japanese anime that I could find some happy medium, or, you know, between the things that I couldn’t physically do, like say the Vega Brothers movie, or something like that,”

– Quentin Tarantino, Director

The long-rumored Vega Brothers movie, which would have centered on Vic Vega (portrayed by Michael Madsen in Reservoir Dogs) and Vincent Vega (played by John Travolta in Pulp Fiction), never materialized in live-action form. Madsen’s death earlier this year makes animation an increasingly appealing solution for reviving the tale of these cinematic criminals.

Upcoming Release: The Whole Bloody Affair

Tarantino’s next official Kill Bill offering is Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair, a seamless cut combining Volume 1 and Volume 2 into a single presentation. This anticipated release is scheduled for December 5, 2025, giving fans a chance to experience the saga in its entirety as Tarantino originally intended.

As these Quentin Tarantino Kill Bill projects develop, film enthusiasts and longtime Tarantino fans are left to wonder which ideas will become reality and how they might shape the legacy of the director’s interconnected cinematic universe.
