Taron Egerton in Talks for Netflix’s Wild ‘Alpha’ Werewolf Film

Taron Egerton may soon lead the cast of the highly anticipated Taron Egerton Alpha movie, as Netflix UK has secured the rights to the project following a competitive bidding process. The film promises a unique blend of horror and corporate intrigue, set against the backdrop of London’s high-stakes investment world.

Netflix Wins Rights to ‘Alpha’

Following a bidding war, Netflix UK has obtained the rights to Alpha, a new genre film drawing comparisons to iconic works like American Psycho and the HBO Max series Industry. The movie aims to deliver an inventive take on the werewolf mythos while exploring deeper social themes.

Plot and Production Details Emerge

Described as a

“fun, sexy, elevated genre title that explores the world of toxic masculinity, greed, and the mythos of success, a cross between American Psycho, the HBO Max series Industry, and American Werewolf in London,”

Alpha will center on a mild-mannered American analyst who quickly rises through the ranks of a cutthroat London investment firm. As his ambitions grow, he encounters a far more terrifying ordeal:

“a mild-mannered American analyst climbs the ranks of a ruthless London investment firm, only to discover a horror more frightening than the industry itself: the insatiable monster awakening within him.”

The werewolf-themed project is being produced by Adam Goldworm of Aperture Entertainment, along with Tory Tunnell and Joby Harold from Safehouse. Goldworm currently has other horror projects in the works, including Ankle Snatcher for Sony and How to Sell a Haunted House with Legendary.

Taron Egerton’s Expanding Netflix Roles

Taron Egerton, best known for Carry-On, is currently in talks to take on the leading role in Alpha. His relationship with Netflix continues to grow, with Egerton also starring in Apex, an upcoming survival thriller described as Free Solo meets Silence of the Lambs, alongside Charlize Theron.

Future Developments and Pending Releases

As anticipation builds around Alpha, questions remain about potential changes to its title, particularly since Julia Ducournau’s film of the same name still awaits a U.S. release. Audiences will be watching closely as new updates on Netflix’s ambitious werewolf feature are expected in the coming months, with further casting and production announcements anticipated.
