Teyana Taylor Clears Up Leo’s Viral Golden Globes KPop Talk

A video of Leonardo DiCaprio animatedly discussing KPop Demon Hunters at his table during the 2026 Golden Globes quickly went viral, sparking widespread amusement online. However, Teyana Taylor recently clarified that the Oscar-winning actor was not speaking to her during the lively exchange, addressing the confusion during an appearance on The Tonight Show on January 14.

Teyana Taylor Sets the Record Straight on the Misunderstanding

Three days after the Golden Globes ceremony, Teyana Taylor explained to host Jimmy Fallon that she had been mistakenly thought to be the subject of DiCaprio’s animated KPop remarks. Contrary to what many believed, Taylor revealed she has long been a fan of the Netflix sensation KPop Demon Hunters, pointing out,

“my kids’ favorite song is ‘Golden,’ so I was, like, really excited.”

She recounted calling Leonardo to clear things up, stating,

“I had to call Leo, I’m like, ‘I wasn’t asking you …,’”

and added,

“I knew exactly what K-pop was, because Chase [Infiniti] taught me. I was like, ‘You can’t be talking to me — were you talking to me? ‘Cause I already told people you was talking to me.’”

What Really Took Place at the Golden Globes Table

According to Taylor, DiCaprio had multiple conversations about KPop Demon Hunters throughout the night. She joked,

“So apparently, he had two KPop Demon Hunters conversations that night!”

and added with a laugh,

“KPop Demon Hunters was just in his mouth all night. I’m like, ‘Who else was you kiki-ing with like that?’ Literally, that’s how we kiki. So I had like a little friendly jealousy. I was like, ‘Who else are you chewing your invisible gum with?’”

Taylor also acknowledged that DiCaprio himself could not recall the exact person he was speaking with, saying,

“He don’t even remember who he was talking to,”

and reaffirmed,

“Yeah, it wasn’t me. I knew exactly who KPop Demon Hunters was.”
