Pierce Brosnan and his son, Dylan, were seen enjoying a casual walk in Valldemossa, Majorca, on Thursday while the Irish actor is currently in Spain for the filming of the second installment of the Paramount+ series MobLand. The 72-year-old star, known for his iconic roles, appeared cheerful as he wore a brown coat and a baseball cap during the sunny outing.
Dylan, 29, who has followed in his father’s footsteps as an actor, joined Brosnan along with friends while dressed in a camel jacket paired with denim. This family moment unfolds as Pierce Brosnan continues professional commitments on location in Spain, highlighting ongoing work on MobLand filming.
Transformation for New Role in Upcoming Film Giant
Besides his current filming schedule in Majorca, Pierce Brosnan recently spoke about a significant transformation for his role as boxing trainer Brendan Ingle in the biopic Giant, which depicts the story of world champion boxer Prince Naseem Hamed. Brosnan described the physical changes required for this character, including spending hours in makeup to apply prosthetics and a bald cap to fully embody Ingle’s look.
Discussing the project on The One Show earlier this month, Brosnan explained the impact of the role and shared,
“There was a transformation in this. I don’t look like Brendan and again when I read this text I thought:
My God, Rowan [Athale, the film’s director and screenwriter], you’ve given me a jewel here
.”
He added that the special effects process took a couple of hours, involving a nose prosthetic as well. Amir El-Masry, who plays Naseem, complimented the effort required to bring the character to life.

Capturing the Spirit of Boxing’s Showmen
When asked about portraying the flamboyant personality of Brendan Ingle, Brosnan admitted the experience was unique. Host Angellica Bell referenced a memorable moment on screen involving a leopard print tracksuit. Pierce reflected on the true essence of the figure he was playing, saying,
“Well, you know, He was a showman. Brendan was a total showman. So was Naz, and it was created out of that flamboyance, and you know you want to grab the attention of the world and they did exactly that.”
He humorously added,
“But yeah…the leopard skin… I kept the leopard skin! You never know….”
The film, produced by Sylvester Stallone and directed by Rowan Athale, explores the unlikely partnership between Brendan Ingle, a steel industry worker turned trainer, and Prince Naseem Hamed, charting their rise in the boxing world through grit and personality amidst racial challenges in 1980s and 1990s Britain.
Bringing an Inspirational Story to the Big Screen
Giant portrays the journey of Naseem Hamed’s ascent from working-class Sheffield streets to becoming a world boxing champion under Ingle’s guidance. The narrative highlights not only athletic skill but also cultural struggles and the showmanship that defined their careers.
AGC Studios Chairman and CEO Stuart Ford expressed enthusiasm about the film’s development:
“
Since commissioning Rowan to write the brilliant screenplay for ‘Giant’ several years ago, we’ve been passionate about bringing this extraordinary story to the big screen.
”
He also praised the lead actors’ performances and partners involved in the project, adding,
“
Amir and Pierce will make a powerful lead duo and it’s exciting that Zygi and his team at True Brit, with their outstanding career track record in launching the best of British film to audiences, believe as fervently as we do in ‘Giant’s cinematic potential.’
”
Upcoming Release and Anticipation
The film Giant is scheduled to premiere in the UK and Ireland on January 9, offering audiences a glimpse into a compelling chapter of British boxing history that intertwines sports, culture, and perseverance. As Brosnan balances his work on MobLand filming in Majorca with his dedication to this biopic, fans can look forward to seeing the actor’s versatility and transformative performance in the months ahead.
