Leonardo DiCaprio has secured his seventh nomination for Best Leading Actor at the BAFTA Film Awards, matching the record held by some of cinema’s most celebrated actors. This achievement for Leonardo DiCaprio BAFTA nomination places him alongside Daniel Day-Lewis, Michael Caine, Laurence Olivier, Jack Lemmon, Peter Finch, and Dustin Hoffman as the top nominees in this category.
At 51 years old, DiCaprio is now the youngest actor to reach this milestone. His latest nomination is for his role in One Battle After Another, where he portrays Bob Ferguson, a troubled former revolutionary desperately searching for his abducted teenage daughter, Will, played by Chase Infiniti. The film also stars Sean Penn as Steven J. Lockjaw, an ex-colleague involved in the kidnapping.

One Battle After Another led the BAFTA nominations with 14 entries, including Best Film, surpassing Sinners, which received 13 nominations and recently set a record at the Oscars with 16 nominations. Besides DiCaprio, the film earned acting nods for Chase Infiniti as Best Leading Actress, Benicio Del Toro and Sean Penn for Best Supporting Actor, and Teyana Taylor for Best Supporting Actress.
Director Paul Thomas Anderson also received nominations for Best Director and Best Adapted Screenplay for his work on the film, highlighting the project’s widespread acclaim within the industry.
