Chris Pratt Reveals The Terminal List Season 2 Release Window

Prime Video’s action thriller The Terminal List, starring Chris Pratt as Lieutenant Commander James Reece, first premiered on July 1, 2022. The show follows Reece as he takes down those responsible for the deaths of his family and Alpha Team. After becoming popular with viewers, the series was renewed for a second season, which finished filming last year. Recently, Pratt appeared on the Happy Sad Confused podcast with host Josh Horowitz, where he indicated that The Terminal List Season 2 is likely to premiere toward the end of 2026.

Progress on Season 2 Production and New Cast Additions

In his podcast interview, Chris Pratt confirmed that post-production is underway and most of the season is complete. He revealed to TV Insider:

“We’re done with season two. Yeah, we’re in post right now. We’ve locked six of eight episodes.”

The second season will feature new actors joining the cast, including Gabriel Luna from The Last of Us and Luke Hemsworth. Luna will play Freddy Strain, while Hemsworth will portray Jules Landry. However, actors from the first season such as Constance Wu, Taylor Kitsch, and Riley Keough have not yet been confirmed for their return.

Recap of Season 1 Events and Storyline Implications

Season 1 ended with Reece uncovering a conspiracy behind the deaths of his team and family, exposing a deadly drug linked to their murders. One major twist revealed Ben Edwards, Reece’s former friend played by Taylor Kitsch, as a traitor. Edwards served as the CIA intelligence source who orchestrated the ambush that wiped out Alpha Team, admitting he received $20 million to ensure the operatives died in the field rather than hospitals. Despite this betrayal, Edwards claimed he was not behind the death of Reece’s family.

Following Edwards’ death at Reece’s hands, the protagonist is forced to flee the United States after being labeled a terrorist. He escapes using Edwards’ boat and heads to Mozambique, a country in North Africa where Jack Carr’s next novel in the series, True Believer, is set.

Expansion of The Terminal List Universe

Along with the continuation of the main series, Prime Video has announced a prequel series titled The Terminal List: Dark Wolf. This show stars Taylor Kitsch, Tom Hopper, and Chris Pratt, alongside Luke Hemsworth, Rona-Lee Shimon, Dar Salim, and Robert Wisdom, further exploring the world created by Jack Carr’s novels. The prequel is currently available for streaming on Prime Video.

What’s Next for Fans and the Series

The confirmation that Season 2 of The Terminal List will arrive in late 2026 has left some viewers anxious given the lengthy wait after the first season’s intense and suspenseful cliffhangers. The addition of new cast members and continuation of unresolved storylines promise to deepen the series’ tension and intrigue. Fans will be watching closely to see which original actors return and how the story unfolds in the context of Reece’s flight to Mozambique. Following the show’s expanding universe, audiences can expect more action and revelations as the franchise develops.
