Kristen Stewart’s Full Phil Called ‘Nightmare Emily in Paris’

Kristen Stewart stars in the upcoming film Full Phil, described by director Quentin Dupieux as a nightmarish, fever-dream version of Emily in Paris. The movie centers on a wealthy American industrialist, portrayed by Woody Harrelson, who travels to Paris to reconnect with his daughter, played by Stewart.

Director Discusses Comparisons and Themes

In a recent interview, Dupieux addressed comparisons some viewers have made between Full Phil and other popular shows. When asked about similarities to The White Lotus, he explained differences in tone and setting, emphasizing Full Phil’s unique narrative.

“I recently watched a few episodes of the latest season with Charlotte Le Bon, who’s also in my film. I don’t really see the similarity. White Lotus is quite realistic. Yes, there are two people in a hotel, but there’s much more than that. And we don’t stay in the hotel the whole movie.”

Dupieux instead aligned the film more closely with Emily in Paris, but with a surreal and unsettling twist.

Cast Members’ Rapid Commitment Praised by Director

Dupieux highlighted the enthusiasm shown by both Harrelson and Stewart in joining the project. He praised Woody Harrelson for accepting the role without even reading the script.

“We embarked on the film as soon as Woody came on board. He accepted without reading the script, which is extraordinary for an American actor,”

The search for an actress to play the daughter began as soon as Harrelson was cast. Stewart, known for her role in Twilight, quickly agreed to participate after brief consideration.

“She took a weekend to consider it and accepted within 48 hours, which is rare. I think there was a challenge in the film that excited her. She joined just like that — very brave of her,”

Dupieux’s remarks emphasize the unique appeal and difficulty of the project that attracted the lead actors so swiftly.

What Full Phil Means for Audiences and Future Projects

With its tense, eerie tone and unusual storyline, Full Phil promises an unsettling take on familiar themes of family and reconnection in an iconic city. The collaboration between Dupieux, Harrelson, and Stewart suggests a film that will challenge audiences’ expectations, blending dark humor with psychological depth. The film’s release is highly anticipated, and the involvement of well-known actors adds to its intrigue and potential impact in contemporary cinema.
