Lex Luthor’s Epic Transformation for James Gunn’s Man of Tomorrow

The story of Clark Kent will continue in the upcoming film Man of Tomorrow, scheduled for release in 2027, following Superman’s introduction in 2025. DC Studios plans to quickly bring Krypton’s last son back to theaters, advancing his journey within the DC Universe.

Nicholas Hoult’s Physical Preparation for Lex Luthor

As Man of Tomorrow nears the start of principal photography, Nicholas Hoult, who portrays Lex Luthor, has been intensifying his physical training. Paolo Mascitti shared footage on Instagram showing Hoult’s impressive transformation, highlighting the actor’s dedication to embodying the character’s evolution.

The Evolving Dynamic Between Lex Luthor and Superman

Hoult’s return to the DC Universe will follow his cameo in Peacemaker season 2, offering insights into Lex Luthor’s state after previous events involving Superman. When Hoult reunites with David Corenswet, who plays Superman, in 2027, their relationship will shift dramatically. Unlike typical rivalries, their characters will be forced to collaborate against a more significant threat in the new film.

Introducing Brainiac and Additional Key Characters

James Gunn confirmed that Lars Eidinger will portray Brainiac, marking the villain’s first live-action appearance. Alongside established characters like Isabela Merced’s Hawkgirl, Rachel Brosnahan’s Lois Lane, and Frank Grillo’s Rick Flag Sr., the cast expands the story’s scope. Gunn has also revealed that Batman and Wonder Woman will not appear in the film. However, DC Studios is casting a female character whose identity remains undisclosed.

Upcoming Projects and Release Dates in the DC Universe

The DC Universe will continue its narrative on June 26 with the release of the Supergirl movie, starring Milly Alcock as Kara Zor-El. Following this, Man of Tomorrow is set to premiere in theaters on July 9, 2027, promising a new chapter for the characters introduced earlier in the series.
