Apple Original Films has secured the rights to an untitled movie about Lance Armstrong, featuring Academy Award nominee Austin Butler (Elvis) in the lead role, marking another major project centered on the famed cyclist. This film will explore the complex life and career of Armstrong, a story that has attracted attention from various big names in Hollywood.
Directed by Edward Berger, known for his work on Conclave, the script is penned by Zach Baylin, the writer behind King Richard. Apple Studios is handling production, with Scott Stuber, Nick Nesbitt, and Berger producing. Josh Glick and Zac Frognowski will join as executive producers alongside Baylin.
Lance Armstrong’s legacy is marked by his remarkable comeback from cancer to claim seven consecutive Tour de France victories.
