Julia Louis-Dreyfus is preparing to star in a new television series for Apple TV, marking her latest significant role. The upcoming limited dramedy is inspired by a New York Magazine article and is currently close to receiving official approval, signaling an anticipated addition to her extensive career in television.
Project Details and Creative Team Behind the Series
The new show draws from Bindu Bansinath’s article The Nanny Squatter and features fellow Saturday Night Live alum Cecily Strong as a co-star. Mary Bronstein will write, direct, and act as the showrunner, while both Louis-Dreyfus and Strong will serve as executive producers. Bronstein is also an executive producer along with Scoop Wasserstein of Vox Media Studios and New York Magazine. Production responsibilities will be handled by Apple Studios.
The storyline
“centers on a couple whose lives are upended after welcoming a seemingly ideal caregiver into their home, only to find boundaries blurred and control slipping as the arrangement spirals into a tense, unsettling power struggle,”
setting a cautious and suspenseful tone for the series.
