Elijah Wood Vows No One Else Will Play Frodo While He Lives

Elijah Wood, best known for his role as Frodo Baggins in The Lord of the Rings trilogy, has made it clear that no other actor should play Frodo while he is alive. Speaking to The Sunday Times, Wood expressed that he does not want the character to be recast in future productions, emphasizing his strong connection to the part he originally portrayed.

Uncertainty Surrounds Return in Upcoming Film

Although it remains unconfirmed whether Wood will reprise his role as Frodo in the 2027 film The Hunt for Gollum, Ian McKellen, who plays Gandalf, has publicly committed to returning. When asked about his involvement in the new movie directed by Andy Serkis, Wood was deliberately noncommittal but hinted at a positive possibility.

“It hasn’t been officially announced, but at a convention last August, Ian sort of let the cat out of the bag,”

Wood shared.

“So there is a good chance. I’m not able to officially say anything until it’s announced, but I will say I’m thrilled with the prospect of another film.”
