Ryan Gosling’s role in the upcoming film Project Hail Mary has earned high praise from his co-star Priya Kansara, who described working alongside the Canadian actor as “amazing.” The science-fiction movie stars Gosling as a science teacher on a vital mission aboard a spaceship to save the dying Sun. Kansara expressed enthusiasm about their collaboration while speaking to the Press Association ahead of the film’s UK release.
Behind the Scenes: A Collaborative Experience on Set
Kansara, age 31, shared her admiration for Gosling, highlighting how much she learned from him during filming.
“Getting to watch Ryan work every day and be there on set, and doing it live with him… I got to sit and have a masterclass every day and he’s such a generous collaborator,”
she explained. The actress also noted,
“It was such a collaborative effort, I learnt so much.”
Her experience playing a molecular biologist in the film was especially rewarding given her academic background in the subject.
The Premiere and Other Notable Attendees
The premiere for Project Hail Mary took place at Cineworld Leicester Square in London, where attendees showed a blend of sophisticated style and enthusiasm for the film. Kansara wore a satin emerald green dress with sparkling accents, while Ryan Gosling impressed attendees in a pinstriped burgundy suit paired with black patent loafers. James Ortiz, who performs as the lead puppeteer portraying the alien character Rocky, also praised Gosling’s acting ability, saying,
“If Ryan was having an emotional scene, the hardest thing was me not crying. Because Ryan is so good at (acting).”
The star-studded event also drew Ted Lasso actress Hannah Waddingham, dressed in a sleek black gown with cut-out details and a blazer over her shoulders. Singer Myleene Klass attended with her daughter Hero Harper Quinn, both in black outfits—Klass in a satin bodysuit layered with a sheer gown.
The Film’s Message and Upcoming Release
Kansara described Project Hail Mary as “so special,” emphasizing the hope and positivity the film inspires. She remarked,
“You can’t help but come out (from watching it) feeling hopeful, and joyful, and knowing that there’s good in the world – or the universe.”
This optimistic tone aligns with the film’s sci-fi narrative and Gosling’s character’s crucial role. Project Hail Mary is scheduled for release in UK cinemas on March 20, and anticipates drawing audiences with its blend of science, emotion, and adventure.
