James Wan Bio
James Wan (born 26 February 1977) is an Australian filmmaker known for his significant contributions to the horror genre. He is the co-creator of the Saw and Insidious franchises and the creator of The Conjuring Universe, which is the highest-grossing horror franchise at over $2 billion. Additionally, Wan is the founder of the film and television production company, Atomic Monster, and has directed several blockbuster films, including Furious 7 and Aquaman.

James Wan was born on 26 February 1977 in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia, to Chinese-Malaysian parents. At the age of seven, he and his family relocated to Perth, Western Australia. Wan attended West Leederville Primary School and later Willetton Senior High School in Perth. He then moved to Canberra, where he attended Lake Tuggeranong College before finally relocating to Melbourne to study at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT). He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in media in 1999.
