Early Life and Background
Michael Bay was born in Los Angeles, California, and raised by his adoptive parents, Harriet, a bookstore owner and child psychiatrist, and Jim, a Certified Public Accountant. He was raised in a Jewish household, and his grandfather was from Russia. Bay attended the exclusive Crossroads School in Santa Monica, California, where he was exposed to the arts and developed an interest in filmmaking.
