Anthony Joseph Gilroy (born September 11, 1956) is an American screenwriter, director, and producer. He is well-known for writing the screenplays of The Bourne Identity, The Bourne Supremacy, and The Bourne Ultimatum. Additionally, Gilroy directed the film Michael Clayton, which received critical acclaim, earning him Academy Award nominations. He also contributed to the Star Wars franchise with Rogue One, and is currently the showrunner for the Disney+ series Andor.

Tony Gilroy was born in Manhattan, New York City, to Ruth Dorothy (née Gaydos), a sculptor and writer, and Frank D. Gilroy, an award-winning playwright, director, and movie producer. He has two brothers, Dan Gilroy, a screenwriter, and John Gilroy, an editor. Gilroy has Italian, Irish, and German ancestry through his father. He was raised in Washingtonville, New York, where he graduated from Washingtonville High School in 1974 at the age of 16.
