Bio

Muschietti was raised in Vicente López and Acassuso, Buenos Aires. He and his sister, Bárbara Muschietti, both attended Fundación Universidad del Cine. In the 1990s, Andy worked as a storyboard artist and assistant director. In 2001, he moved to Barcelona with Bárbara where they worked in advertising before founding their own production company. Their short film Mama (2008), directed and co-written by Andy, caught the attention of Guillermo del Toro, leading to the feature adaptation in 2013.
