Awkwafina, born Nora Lum, is an American actress and rapper whose career spans independent music, comedy, and blockbuster film. She first gained widespread recognition in 2012 when her rap song “My Vag” went viral on YouTube, and has since built an award-winning body of work across film, television, and music. She is widely recognized for her Golden Globe-winning performance in The Farewell, her supporting role in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, and her starring role in the Comedy Central series Awkwafina Is Nora from Queens, which she also writes and executive produces. She has voiced characters in animated features and won a Primetime Emmy Award for the film Quiz Lady.
