Cord Jefferson is an American writer and director whose career spans journalism, television, and feature film. After contributing to Gawker, USA Today, The Huffington Post, The Root, and The New York Times Magazine, Jefferson transitioned into television writing with roles on Survivor’s Remorse, The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore, Master of None, and The Good Place. He won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for the HBO limited series Watchmen and served as a writer and supervising producer on Station Eleven. Jefferson made his feature directorial debut with American Fiction, winning the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay and the Toronto International Film Festival People’s Choice Award.
